Dell Seton opens new unit to care for 'neurocritical' patients AUSTIN (KXAN) — Dell Seton Medical Center has opened a first-of-its-kind in Central Texas specialist unit designed to care for patients with neurocritical needs.The unit will provide "advanced, multidisciplinary and compassionate care for patients with the most complex and highly acute neurological conditions," according to a press release from Ascension Seton.The hospital hopes the unit will become a destination for neurology and neurosurgery services in the region.The 15-bed unit will allow for comprehensive treatment of patients in need of neuroscience services, including those suffering from seizures, strokes, brain injuries and brain or spinal tumors."The benefits of a neurocritical care unit in our community are significant," said Dr. Alan Nova, interim director of the unit. Robbery suspect accused of attempting to speak to children at Rancho Cucamonga daycare A robbery suspect was arrested after allegedly attempting to speak to children at a Rancho Cucamonga daycare on Thursday.The suspect was identified as 38-year-old Cristian Rodriguez by the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.Deputies responded to reports of a man trying to speak to children at a daycare near the 9600 Block of Baseline Road around 9:10 a.m.Arriving officers spotted Rodriguez across the street from the daycare facility. While taking him into custody, they found a concealed replica firearm.Authorities also discovered Rodriguez was a wanted suspect for strong-arm robbery.Rodriguez was booked into the West Valley Detention Center where he is being held on $50,000 bail.
