MUNCIE, Ind. — Police are investigating after one person was killed and multiple people were shot in Muncie, Indiana, according to police. Muncie Police Department officers were dispatched to the area of South Hackley Street and East Willard Street around 1:14 a.m. on a report of multiple people shot. When officers arrived, they learned that a large party was hosted at this location.Read more: Latest Chicago news headlinesUpon further investigation, they determined a 30-year-old man has died and multiple people are wounded and seeking treatment at an area hospital. Other victims have been airlifted to area facilities. This is an active investigation being conducted by multiple agencies. Ex-Facebook users can get in on the action too, as long as they meet a few criteria. The main requirement is that you had a Facebook account for any time between May 24, 2007, and Dec. 22, 2022. You also need to have been a United States resident during that period of time. Even people who deleted their Facebook account qualify – they're just likely to see a smaller payout. How big your check ends up being depends in part on how long your account was active. Facebook’s $725M settlement is huge, but how much will you actually get? People have until Aug. 25, 2023 to file a claim, either online or by mail. After the deadline passes, a judge will need to give the settlement final approval. That hearing is set for Sept. 7. PFLUGERVILLE, Texas (KXAN) — Typhoon Texas Austin said it would host a “Grown-Up Getaway” exclusively for those ages 21 and up. The event is expected to run from 7-10 p.m. Aug. 4.The waterpark said the evening would be for grown-ups to enjoy its attractions, as well as live music by the wave pool.According to Typhoon Texas, tickets for the event are $29.99 per person or free for 2023 season pass holders ages 21 and up. All the frights and fun of the Halloween season are on display this weekend in Long Beach, allowing fans of all things horror to experience the spooky holiday in the middle of summer. The Midsummer Scream Halloween and Horror Convention runs from Friday through Sunday at the Long Beach Convention Center and features live entertainment, vendors and more. Participants will also have the opportunity to walk through the “Hall of Shadows,” a massive hall filled with over a dozen haunted attractions, according to the Midsummer Scream website. Also present at the convention are props from the “Saw” film series – some of which include props and inside scoop from the unreleased tenth installment of the movie – and the Black Cat Lounge, where attendees can go relax in a room of “feline beasties” and possibly take one home. One woman was stabbed to death and her 17-year-old daughter seriously injured in an apparent act of domestic violence in unincorporated Redwood City early Sunday morning, according to the San Mateo County Sheriff’s office.Authorities responded to a 911 call at 12:30 a.m. from a woman screaming that someone was trying to kill her on the 3200 block of Fair Oaks Avenue. When deputies arrived at the residence, a multi-dwelling building, they found a man covered in blood standing outside.The man, identified as Jose Uriarte-Martinez, was apprehended. Inside the home, deputies found the two female victims, both of whom had been stabbed multiple times. Deputies provided medical assistance and arranged for the women to be transferred to Stanford Hospital.According to the San Mateo County Sheriff’s office, the two women were mother and daughter.The mother died of her injuries at the hospital. A 3.6 magnitude earthquake occurred southeast of San Jose on Sunday morning, according to reports from the United States Geological Survey.The quake happened at 6:49 a.m., with its epicenter near Morgan Hill, 15.5 miles southeast of San Jose. A fatal crash early Sunday shut all southbound lanes of Highway 13 near Montclair and left one pedestrian dead.California Highway Patrol responded to a report of a man crawling in the slow lane at 1:17 a.m. near the Park Boulevard onramp.According to California Highway Patrol, the man was walking in the number two lane when he was hit by two separate cars, one of which was a black Toyota Corolla. (KRON) -- An 85-year-old man died after being struck by a car in a Santa Clara crosswalk on Friday evening, according to the City of Santa Clara. Woman dies in Redwood City domestic violence stabbing Authorities said the crash happened around 8:48 p.m., and a witness called 911 to report that a pedestrian had been hit by a car. Fire crews and police arrived at the scene and gave the pedestrian medical attention, but he was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators with the Santa Clara Police Department determined that the driver of a Toyota pickup truck was heading west on Homestead Road when they struck the pedestrian.
