Joeski is On Top of the World: US artist Joeski says that his journey into DJing and producing began when he was just 13 years old.“My older sister was dating a disco DJ who lived in our neighborhood,” he says. “He was so taken with my sister that he took a liking to me, her little brother. He invited me over to his place to mess around on his turntables and his impressive record collection. Little did he know, that would spark a lifelong passion for me. From that moment, I was captivated by the art of mixing, and I found myself constantly wanting to do it. As time went on, my infatuation with DJing grew stronger. At the age of 17, I decided to turn my passion into a profession. I ventured into the DJ scene in New York City, where I was determined to make a name for myself. It was a bold move at such a young age, but it proved to be a pivotal decision that set the course for my career. As the ’90s unfolded, the landscape of the music industry began to shift. ...

Best of the West rankings: Utah upsets BYU (now comes the hard part); Arizona remains on top; Colorado and New Mexico rise

Published Thu, 06 Mar 2025 04:30:50 GMT

There was no luck involved in Utah’s upset of 14th-ranked Brigham Young last weekend. The Utes grabbed a double-digit halftime advantage and led for 38 of the 40 minutes in recording their first victory over a ranked BYU team in 30 years. In every sense, it was one of Utah’s most inspired performances in years. Now comes the deflating reality: The Utes must root for BYU.Yep, they’re cheering for the enemy.Such is life in the NCAA Tournament selection process, where a 73-69 victory in December carries implications for March and a bitter rival becomes a staunch supporter. The strength of Utah’s resume will depend, in part, on BYU’s success in the Big 12.The more quality wins the Cougars collect in their new conference — and it’s arguably the toughest league in the land — the more weight Utah’s head-to-head victory carries. If the Utes fare well in Pac-12 play and are in the pool of teams competing for at-large bids to March Madness, ev...

By Katia Hetter | CNNThe spread of respiratory illnesses is well underway, as US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention director Dr. Mandy Cohen told Congress recently. She noted the rise of three particular viruses: flu, the coronavirus and respiratory syncytial virus, better known as RSV.Hospitalizations for these three viruses continue to increase, according to CDC data. As more people have symptoms such as cough, sneezing and fever, they may wonder if they should get tested to find out exactly which virus is causing their symptoms. What symptoms can be treated at home, and what should prompt someone to seek medical care? Does it matter if you go to the doctor’s office versus urgent care or the emergency room? And if people have not gotten vaccinated yet, is it too late?To assist us with answering these questions, I spoke with CNN wellness medical expert Dr. Leana Wen.
